Speaking on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, Frank Lampard has been waxing-lyrical about Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane after they broke his and Didier Drogba’s Premier League scoring combination record.

Son and Kane are now the two players who have assisted each other the most often in Premier League history, breaking Lampard and Drogba’s record.

Lampard would have every right to be aggrieved to see his record smashed, but according to the Everton boss, there are no hard feelings towards the Spurs pair, despite his Chelsea allegiances.

What’s been said?

Lampard spoke about Son and Kane breaking his record.

“No, not at all. I think Harry Kane and Son are incredible players, the game will always move on and people will always break records, and when they do it, particularly with those two, they’re really humble players, hard-working, great talent, even as Tottenham players, and I’m seen as a Chelsea man during my playing days, I have no problem with it. They rank highly in terms of double-acts in history,” Lampard said.

Credit where it’s due

Lampard and Drogba’s record was incredible, but even as a Chelsea legend whose record has been broken, Lampard has had to give Son and Kane their dues.

To be honest, it’s hard not to be amazed by these two. Very rarely do you get an attacking duo who can understand each other like these two do, and it’s hard to imagine we’ll see anything like this again for a long time.

Son and Kane may not have any trophies to boast about, but this Premier League record tells you all you need to know about their combined quality.
