Liverpool are keeping tabs on Angers’ Ligue 1 wonderkid Mohamed-Ali Cho just two years after he left Premier League rivals Everton, according to French publication RMC Sport.
Every club has their very own ‘one that got away’.
For Arsenal, it’s Serge Gnabry. For Chelsea, Kevin de Bruyne or Mo Salah. As for Everton, well, let’s just say Cho’s remarkable rise on the other side of the Channel has done little to ease the frustration festering on Gwladys Street.
According to The Athletic, Cho turned down the chance to extend his stay as an Everton player back in 2020, opting instead for a fresh start back home in France.

Even the most optimistic, glass-half-full Toffees supporter would struggle to argue that this was the wrong decision.
Because, while Everton have slipped into an almost perpetual state of terminal decline, Cho is rapidly heading in the other direction. At just 18, the former England youth star is already a regular in Ligue 1.
He’s played nearly 30 games for Angers this season. And Cho will earn Les Noirs et Blancs a huge profit when the time comes to move on. Move on he will, most probably during the summer.
Could Liverpool sign Everton’s one-that-got-away?
Atletico Madrid, Marseille, Leicester City and Southampton are just some of the clubs reportedly keen on a winger who’s explosive pace and trademark trickery have earned comparisons with arguably the finest footballer on planet earth right now.
In what he can do and in the way he plays, he’s the Kylian Mbappe of Angers,” claims Abdel Bouhazama, the club’s academy director.

It almost goes without saying that, after the season from the depths of hell itself, the last thing Everton supporters need right now is to see one of their most talented young players in a generation put pen to paper with the red-clad club on the other side of Stanley Park.
RMC claim that Liverpool – a club always on the lookout for the next big thing – are watching developments closely.
Angers are hoping to make Cho the biggest export in their history, demanding a fee exceeding the £21 million Lyon paid for Jeff-Reine Adelaide.
Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico and Real Madrid are also keen on the £35 million-rated teenager.
