FC Barcelona are reportedly in talks to sign VfB Stuttgart fullback Borna Sosa, who is also wanted by Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Germany, the La Liga giants had scouts in attendance for the Bundesliga side’s weekend clash against Borussia Dortmund, where Sosa was unable to prevent a 2-0 loss to the German club.
As per the report, as well as scouting the 24-year-old Croatian international, Barcelona are also in talks with Sosa’s representatives, with Stuttgart only willing to sell the defender for €25m (£20m), the price of his release clause.
It’s not just Barcelona who are chasing Sosa, though, with Bild journalist Christian Falk reporting that the left-back is wanted by Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, with the Italian manager keen to improve the north London club’s wing-back situation.
The left-side position has been shared around this season between Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon since the arrival of Conte, though the Tottenham manager looks keen to sign a more natural player for the role.
A talent who has likened his game to England legend David Beckham as per the Bundesliga’s official website, Sosa looks set for a big move this summer, yet now Tottenham face some strong competition for the defender in Barcelona.
Barcelona’s pull could end Tottenham’s hopes of signing Sosa

This summer is lining up to be a huge one for numerous clubs around Europe, yet for Tottenham, Sosa could now be out of their reach with Barcelona in talks with the Croatian defender.
After all, the La Liga giants are on the rise under Xavi Hernandez, and the project currently taking place is one that will excite many aspiring players, with Tottenham target Sosa just one name.
