Darwin Nunez is on the radar of many Premier League clubs ahead of the summer window and reports indicate that one of those is Liverpool. On Tuesday, Alisson praised the Benfica star ahead of Wednesday’s second leg.

Nunez, 22, has been in stunning form for Benfica this season. After 14 goals and 12 assists in his first season, this term he has an enormous 31 goals in 36 games for the Portuguese side – including five in the Champions League.

His form is said to have attracted Liverpool – with Melissa Reddy recently telling Sky Sports that the Reds have been looking at the Uruguay star for a “long time”. Nelson Verissimo recently claimed he is worth £100million.

With Liverpool leading the tie 3-1 from the first leg and looking more than comfortable to make it into the semi-finals, with the second leg at Anfield on Wednesday – Alisson reminded all of the danger Nunez poses up top.

“It was a tough game [the first leg]. They have quick strikers, they have a strong striker as a No.9 [Nunez]. They gave us a lot of work to do, but we are ready to face them, we are ready,” Alisson told Liverpool’s website.

Alisson on Nunez: Where does Benfica star fit into Liverpool side?

Naturally, Liverpool do not play with a goalscoring striker. Roberto Firmino has been the man over the years, while Diogo Jota has been in excellent goalscoring form this season – but the ex-Wolves man is hardly a no.9.

That is what Nunez is. Able to link-up play, boasting incredible strength and plenty of pace, he has a bit of everything. But does he suit Liverpool? He certainly suits other Premier League clubs more, than Jurgen Klopp’s side.
