Tim Sherwood thinks the ‘absolutely fantastic’ Heung-Min Son will never leave Tottenham Hotspur, as he told MatchDay Extra on PL Productions.

The former Spurs boss added that Tottenham fans ‘never hear’ about Son possibly leaving compared to the noise that is generated about Harry Kane’s future.

It was well-documented last summer that Kane was looking to leave the Hotspur Way exit door, as Manchester City were keen on his goalscoring talents.

Whilst all of that was happening, Tottenham’s South Korean flying machine penned down a new contract.

Sherwood spoke highly about the impact Son has been since his £22 million move to the club (Guardian) and how he first took to Premier League life like a ‘duck to water’.

“We constantly hear it all the time ‘Harry Kane will he stay or will he go?’” said Sherwood.

“We never hear if from Son. Why not? They have done brilliantly. Daniel Levy has tied him down to a very long contract, so I don’t think there is any chance of him leaving.

“He seems like he is happy at the football club and why shouldn’t he? They put him on the map. He was good at Hamburg. He played at Leverkusen.

“Then he has come to the Premier League and taken to it like a duck to water. He is absolutely fantastic. He’s a pleasure to be a Tottenham fan when you have a player like that in your squad. All the youngsters look up to him. He is a leader in that group. That’s what you need. He’s a credit.”

Son is at the peak of his powers and the fact that he is the only one close to Mo Salah – both 29-years-old – in terms of Premier League goals this season, just goes to show the levels he is performing at.

After his hat-trick at Villa Park on Saturday, Son now has 17 Premier League goals to his name, added with six assists.

Meanwhile, Salah, who has played one game extra, has 20 goals and 11 assists in his locker.

Either way, the level of performance Son is producing, alongside Kane, with Antonio Conte in the dugout is something Daniel Levy has to back in the summer.
