Antonio Conte has stated that Villa Park was a ‘difficult’ stadium following Tottenham’s 4-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday, as he told Sky Sports.
Whilst the scoreline reads four in favour of Spurs, in truth, they will feel a little fortunate because Villa could have and should have been at least 2-0 up before the break.
Instead, they were 1-0 down with Heung-Min Son, perhaps the most in-form player in the Premier League right now, showcasing his ruthless nature and burying the first shot he had at goal with his left foot.
In the second half, Son, alongside Dejan Kulusevski, proceeded to punish a Villa team that failed to deal with countless punts down the field from Conte’s side.
After the game, the Italian spoke about the ‘high intensity’ that Villa brought to the table and playing at Villa Park.
“Aston Villa brought high intensity,” said Conte. “They tried to put a good pressure. For this reason, we showed great consistency to be solid.
“At the same time, when we were in possession of the ball and we get chances to score, then we score four goals.
“A good result in a difficult stadium. Fantastic atmosphere around the players.”

For Spurs, such a result and performance will put a smile on their face because when you are under the cosh, be ruthless and put your opponents away when you get the chance.
They didn’t just do that once, but on four occasions, as Steven Gerrard will still be kicking himself and questioning how his players didn’t score.
Whilst Conte and his players are flying high, the same can’t be said for Villa, who have now lost four Premier League games on the bounce.
It’s yet another woeful run of form from the Midlands side, who just need the Premier League season to end as soon as possible, so they can start afresh.
