Even in Europe, Tottenham Hotspur players are annoying for West Ham United.

Spurs loanee Tanguy Ndombele scored for Lyon in their 1-1 Europa League draw away to the East Londoners on Thursday night.

The France international re-signed for the Ligue 1 outfit in January after struggling for regular football under Antonio Conte.

That was his first goal for Lyon since returning but two assists in league competition illustrates that he’s having an impact nonetheless.

However, Tottenham manager Conte remains adamant that the player has no future in North London, according to The Evening Standard.

The report claims that although the Lilywhites and Ndombele expect a summer return to Hotspur Way, the no-nonsense Italian boss has no long-term plan for him at the club.

The Standard add that Tottenham hope his performances on loan can convince another club to take a £54 million punt on the player, with the French outfit not prepared to exercise their purchase clause of that amount.

Good decision?

Probably.

Talented as Ndombele may be, he has never looked a consistent player at Tottenham.

And remember, this is someone who has played under four different Spurs managers, stretching back to Mauricio Pochettino’s reign at Hotspur Way.

If four different coaches can’t get a consistent tune out of you – particularly world-class figures like Conte – then the problem is more than likely you and tragic as it is to offload a player with this ability, it’s for the best.
