FC Barcelona are set to include a release clause of €1bn in Gavi’s newest contract with the club, all but ending Liverpool’s hopes of signing the talented midfielder.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Barcelona will follow suit with what they have done with Ansu Fait and Pedri and insert a mammoth release clause in Gavi’s new contract, with Liverpool reportedly interested in the 17-year-old.

Barcelona are on a warpath of signing up their most exciting young players to new long-term contracts, with the aforementioned Fati and Pedri all penning fresh deals with the Catalan giants, with Gavi and Ronald Araujo next on the agenda.
