Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about Gabriel Martinelli’s contract situation at Arsenal.
The Brazilian winger has been a revelation for the Gunners this season, and understandably, the north London outfit want to reward his good form with a new deal.
Indeed, while Martinelli’s contract still has two years left to run, Romano says that Arsenal want to give the attacker a new contract as soon as possible.
What’s been said?
Romano shared what he knows about Martinelli and a new contract.
“Yes, I want to talk about contracts. We spoke about Bukayo Saka many times, but Gabriel Martinelli is out of contract in 2024, so he is not an urgent topic for Arsenal, but they want to get this done as soon as possible. So, in the coming months, Arsenal will be in contact with Martinelli’s agents, because they want to continue with him and offer him a new deal,” Romano said.

Deserved
There aren’t many players in the Premier League who deserve a new contract as much as Martinelli.
In terms of sheer improvement from last season, Martinelli is right up there with the most improved players in the Premier League.
The Brazilian won’t be on superstar wages. After all, he’s on a deal that he signed as a teenager, but now, he deserves to be paid the wage one would expect of a Premier League star.
Fingers crossed Arsenal can keep hold of this young talent for years to come.
