Darren Bent has told Arsenal that Roma striker, Tammy Abraham, is ‘perfect’ for them.
Abraham left Chelsea colours last summer and moved to Serie A, as Bent feels, just like Serge Gnabry has done in Bayern colours when he wasn’t deemed good enough in England, both are proving their doubters wrong.
Everyone can see the transformation Gnabry has made to his game, with Bundesliga and Champions League winner medals around his neck.
Abraham, who was pushed behind the likes of Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge, is now a record-breaker in Rome – he has scored 23 goals in all competitions, including 15 in Serie, as no-one has scored more in their debut campaign for the club.
Given that Mikel Arteta is looking for a number nine in the summer, Bent thinks Abraham is the guy for them, as he told talkSPORT.
“You know where he would be perfect? Arsenal,” said Bent. “I was saying before that Arsenal should have gone for him.
“Even someone like Serge Gnabry, he was told by Tony Pullis, I think it was at West Brom, that he wasn’t good enough. And now he is one of the best widemen in the world.
“I would have liked to have done it (played abroad). But I didn’t get the opportunity to do it.
“When you are in the form he (Abraham) is in. It’s almost like you have to stay in that spot behind Harry Kane. But it’s such a difficult role to play as that number two because you have to keep scoring consistently.”

In the summer, there were suggestions, both Arsenal and Abraham himself wanted to see him strut his goalscoring magic in north London.
But, for one reason or another, a deal didn’t materialise and the England international headed overseas.
Given that there was interest there before, it will be interesting if it pops up once again in the summer.
Even if Alexandre Lacazette, who is out-of-contract in June, stays or leaves, Arsenal still need a number nine.
A player of Abraham’s goalscoring touch, inside the box, would be a huge upgrade on the man behind the Arsenal captain – Eddie Nketiah.
