Arsenal and Tottenham have been left stunned as reported target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is now on the brink of joining Napoli this summer.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Italian side have acted swiftly in recent weeks to secure the Georgian international’s signature, with Kvaratskhelia now set to join Napoli this summer when the transfer window opens.

As per the report, a five-year contract is on the table that the 21-year-old winger will sign in the coming weeks just days after reports in Italy emerged that Arsenal and Tottenham were leading the race for Kvaratskhelia.

The attacker, who is currently at Georgian side Dinamo Batumi after Kvaratskhelia suspended his contract at Rubin Kazan, is valued at £18m, though it is likely that Napoli will now land the playmaker at a cut-price deal.

Hailed for his technical abilities and qualities on the ball to glide past players with ease and to find space to cause problems, Kvaratskhelia would have been a progressive addition to either Arsenal or Tottenham this summer, though Napoli now look to have landed the exciting youngster.

Indeed, with Kvaratskhelia now back in his homeland until the end of the season, the Georgian international will be hoping to keep himself fit ahead of the summer, where he will finally earn his move to a top-five European league.

Blessed with an incredible touch and exquisite agility, Kvaratskhelia could have been a sensational addition to the Premier League had Arsenal and Tottenham moved faster to snap up the 21-year-old winger.

Yet with Napoli winning the race for Kvaratskhelia, all Arsenal and Tottenham can do now is take lessons from this experience and apply them to their next targets that are also wanted by ambitious clubs on the continent.
