Former Serie A ace Antonio Cassano believes Lazio could bring Allan back to Italy from Premier League strugglers Everton in the summer transfer window, speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel.
It is less than two years since an Everton side under the stewardship of Carlo Ancelotti won their first four games of the 2021/22 season, storming to the summit of the Premier League table with James Rodriguez and £24 million summer signing Allan threatening to take the Toffees to a whole new level.
Flash forward to April 2022, however, and the picture has changed somewhat.
Ancelotti is back at Real Madrid, James is counting his cash in Qatar, and the prospect of a first relegation since the aftermath of the Second World War is keeping Everton supporters up at night.
Is Allan leaving Everton for Serie A?
According to The Sun, Allan could follow Ancelotti and Rodriguez out the door regardless of whether the Merseyside giants survive the dreaded drop next month.
Frank Lampard is ready to cash in on the £24 million midfielder. Allan is due to become a free-agent next year.
And Cassano, the former Italy, Roma and Inter Milan forward, would not be surprised to see Allan link up with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio, potentially alongside Chelsea playmaker Jorginho in a new-look midfield.
“I would not rule out seeing Jorginho and Allan at Lazio next season,” says Cassano.
The Serie A and La Liga winner believes the Biancocelesti will need high-quality reinforcements this summer. Especially if 6ft 4ins colossus Sergej Milinkovic-Savic departs.
“If the club were to sell Milinkovic-Savic for 70 or 80 million in the summer, then they could go after the two midfielders, even if there will be a problem of recruiting for the former (Jorginho).

“Lazio also need a defender to command the defence, as both (Francesco) Acerbi and Luiz Felipe will leave. Lazio must sign three or four players in the next season in defence and midfield.”

It remains to be seen how much Everton will demand for Allan.
But, at 31 and with just over a year left on his contract, the ball-winning Brazilian is certain to become the latest in a long list of players leaving Goodison Park at a substantial financial loss.
