Newcastle United are now chasing Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez as they continue to chase a new stopper this summer.
That’s according to a report from The Sun, who claim that Newcastle are now plotting a £20million bid to sign Sanchez this summer.
Eddie Howe is thought to be keen on signing a new goalkeeper this summer amid question marks over Martin Dubravka.
The likes of Bernd Leno, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Dean Henderson have all been heavily linked with Newcastle of late with the Magpies clearly chasing a stopper.
Sanchez is a new name in the frame though with Newcastle seemingly ready to put a big bid on the table for the Spaniard.
Sanchez, 24, joined Brighton from Levante in 2013 and has enjoyed a remarkable rise.
In 2020, Sanchez was on loan at Rochdale. Come September 2021, Sanchez had made his debut for the Spanish national team.
Hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Brighton boss Graham Potter, Sanchez is great with the ball at his feet, strong on crosses and more than a little eccentric, capable of the sublime and the ridiculous.
Brighton are surely sick of Newcastle amid Sanchez interest
Newcastle’s new project is an exciting one but not if you’re anything to do with Brighton.
The Seagulls lost defender Dan Burn to Newcastle in January as the giant centre back left for a dream move to his boyhood club.

Newcastle are also set to land Brighton’s technical director Dan Ashworth in the near future.
Brighton are surely sick of hearing about Newcastle wanting their key men, with Sanchez another one.
Having lost Burn and Ashworth, don’t be surprised to see Brighton make huge demands for Sanchez just to send a message to Newcastle.
Brighton won’t want Newcastle to think they can easily land their key men, so that £20million offer for Sanchez may not even be enough.
