Michael Owen has questioned whether Arsenal are now going to catch Chelsea in the Premier League table after their shock defeat against Brentford on Saturday.
Chelsea were thrashed 4-1 at Stamford Bridge and Owen added, ‘who would have expected that?’, as he asked Premier League Productions (02/04/22 at 5:10 pm).
Whilst Arsenal are looking over their shoulder at the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United in the race for the Premier League’s top-four.
They might also have to look forward because they are five points behind their London rivals, with a game in hand, as well as a visit to the current European Cup holders to come in the coming weeks.
Nonetheless, after Chelsea’s shocking defeat yesterday, this is the brief comment Owen made of Thomas Tuchel’s side current position.
“Who would have believed that,” asked Owen. “Chelsea are in good form in the Premier League.
“All of a sudden, you look at the league table and you think ‘wow’. Are Arsenal going to catch them?”

Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham are just some of the games coming up for Mikel Arteta and his players.
It can either end in pure disaster, which means them finishing sixth and going into the Europa League.
Or they win most of the games and secure Champions League football and even possibly that third spot.
Whilst there isn’t any difference in finishing third and fourth because it still equals Champions League football.
From a psychological standpoint, it might just do this young and ever-progressing Arsenal side the world of good.
