Kris Boyd has written in The Scottish Sun that Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst should play winger Ryan Kent upfront along with Kemar Roofe against Ange Postecoglouv’s Celtic at Ibrox this weekend.

Van Bronckhorst’s Rangers will take on Postecoglouv’s Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Colombia international striker Alfredo Morelos is injured.

Former Rangers striker Boyd believes that Van Bronckhorst should play former Liverpool winger Kent upfront alongside ex-Leeds United star Roofe upfront in a 3-5-2 formation.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Van Bronckhorst has now confirmed he’s out for a couple of weeks at least and this could be Roofe’s chance to regain trust.

“He’s a top finisher, has scored in this fixture before and can hurt Celtic if he gets chances. But I’d be tempted to pair him up with Ryan Kent in a 3-5-2.”

Ryan Kent for Rangers v Celtic?

In our opinion, playing Kent upfront against Celtic may not be a bad idea for Rangers.

The Englishman is a winger by trade, but he could operate in a front-two.

If that does not work, then Rangers manager Van Bronckhorst could always change his tactics during the game.

Kent has made 22 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season.

The Rangers no. 14 has scored two goals and given five assists in those games.

The 25-year-old has scored one goal and given two assists in eight Europa League matches for Rangers so far this campaign.
