Liverpool starting XI: Alisson; Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Jones, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Firmino.

Liverpool substitutes: Kelleher, Fabinho, Konate, Milner, Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Diaz, Alexander-Arnold.

Watford starting XI: Foster; Femenia, Kabasele, Samir, Kamara; Louza, Kucka, Sissoko; Sarr, Hernandez, Joao Pedro.

Watford substitutes: Bachmann, Ngakia, King, Cleverley, Masina, Sema, Cathcart, Dennis, Kayembe.

Liverpool go with Alisson in goal as they return to Premier League action against Watford this afternoon.

The big decision in Jurgen Klopp’s side surrounds Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is only fit for the bench today.

That means Joe Gomez starts at right back, joining Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson in defence.

Curtis Jones is given a chance to shine this afternoon, joining Thiago and Jordan Henderson in the Liverpool midfield.

Klopp has decided to go with Roberto Firmino in attack as he looks to recreate the hat-trick he scored against Watford back in September.

Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah are on the flanks, meaning Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane are only on the bench.

They join Caoimhin Kelleher, Fabinho, Ibrahima Konate, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kostas Tsimikas and Alexander-Arnold on the bench.

Watford have Ben Foster between the sticks today, behind what appears to be a back four of Kiko Femenia, Christian Kabasele, Samir and Hassane Kamara.

Imran Louza joins Juraj Kucka and Moussa Sissoko in midfield, with Ismaila Sarr, Cucho Hernandez and Joao Pedro in attack for the Hornets.

That means Emmanuel Dennis is only on the bench for Watford today despite his impressive season so far.

Dennis is joined by Daniel Bachmann, Jeremy Ngakia, Josh King, Tom Cleverley, Adam Masina, Ken Sema, Craig Cathcart and Edo Kayembe.
