Rangers star Alfredo Morelos will eventually leave Ibrox and test himself in the Premier League, according to Jamie Murphy. The winger told PLZ Soccer that Colombia international Morelos will want to test himself in England.
Morelos, 25, is now approaching five years at Rangers – having joined the club during the Pedro Caixinha reign from HJK Helsinki. He has since clocked up an enormous 224 appearances for the Gers – scoring 113 goals.

Not only that, but the Colombian has also laid on 51 assists for his teammates. Morelos is a powerhouse, a top striker with all the necessary physical attributes required for the Premier League. He has been linked.
Recently, 90Min reported that Newcastle were showing an interest in the January window and that could continue into the summer. Murphy expects Morelos to leave in the coming months, with his deal ending in 2023.
“I think so,” Murphy said, when asked if Morelos would be a success down south – and if he will move. “But sometimes that is the appeal of Rangers. People don’t realise how good they have it and they don’t want to leave.
“People don’t stay at clubs forever so I’m sure eventually he will try something different and be a success,” Murphy continued, on PLZ Soccer.
Murphy on Morelos: Rangers star needs to sign new deal, or go
While he is a Rangers icon and a fan favourite, and now his side’s most-prolific goalscorer in European football in the club’s history, Morelos has a decision to make. Either he signs a new deal, or he leaves Ibrox.
Rangers cannot afford to pass up the opportunity of letting Morelos go on a free transfer. He is too valuable an asset and could bring in a fee north of £10million. So, Rangers either need to strike a new deal, or a sale.
