Conor Coady expressed his delight at Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings scoring for England on Tuesday, as the Wolves defender posted on his Instagram story.

The Wolves captain was on the bench for England’s 3-0 win over the Ivory Coast, with Villa’s very own centre-back starting alongside, Harry Maguire.

There were two Villa players on the scoresheet at Wembley – at first Ollie Watkins and then Mings with a header in stoppage-time – and this is what Coady posted after the game.

“A goal for my mate to end the trip,” said Coady. “I don’t mind it at all.”

Both Coady and Mings will have to put their friendship to one side at the weekend.

Villa will make the short trip across the Midlands to take on Wolves, with both sides suffering defeats before the international break.

Steven Gerrard watched his players hand Arsenal a boost in the race for the Champions League by losing out to a Bukayo Saka goal.

Whilst Wolves, after being 2-0 up, capitulated to suffer a 3-2 defeat against Leeds United, following Raul Jimenez’s sending-off in the second half.

Added with that, it seems as though Ruben Neves will also be missing from the middle of the park after picking up an injury against Leeds.

So, it’s going to be interesting how this one pans out because Bruno Lage’s side are still trying to push for Europe, whilst Gerrard and his players are trying to disrupt the parties around them.
