Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not ‘agreed’ a summer move away from Everton amid reported interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal and West Ham United, the England international’s agent says via The Metro.

If the unthinkable happens and Everton are relegated for the first time since just six years after the Second World War, will we see an exodus for the ages take place at Goodison Park?

A throng of bodies fighting to escape from a sinking ship, leaping into the lifeboats as leaks spring left, right and centre?

Richarlison will surely be the first to go.

Yerry Mina, Jordan Pickford, Ben Godfrey, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure would probably be offered fresh starts elsewhere too. Though Calvert-Lewin may be perhaps the most coveted member of Frank Lampard’s squad.

A spate of injuries have ruined Calvert-Lewin’s campaign. But his reputation remains relatively unscathed, particularly on the back of a fantastic 2020/21 in which the towering targetman scored a career-best 21 goals in all competitions, forcing his way into Gareth Southgate’s European Championship squad as a result.

Is Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaving Everton?

The Sun (27 March, page 67) believes that at least two Premier League clubs have made their interest known already.

A centre-forward is Arsenal’s top priority heading into the summer, particularly after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure and Dusan Vlahovic’s move to Juventus.

West Ham, meanwhile, have been scouring the market for a new number nine ever since Sebastien Haller left for Ajax 14 months ago.

“Dominic has not agreed any deal, with any club,” Calvert-Lewin’s representatives claimed when asked about the former Sheffield United youngster’s future on Gwaldys Street.

Of course, that could soon change.

The Sun adds that a cash-strapped Everton side plan to ‘cash in’ on the £70 million Calvert-Lewin in the summer, with Lampard looking to raise funds for a substantial squad overhaul. ‘DCL’ is perhaps Everton’s most valuable player, and their most coveted one to boot.

“I’ve watched a lot of Everton,” Rio Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five podcast. “And he’s one that unnerves defenders. He’s not one you want to play against week in, week out.

“He’s got into the England squad by scoring loads of goals in and around the six-yard box, scoring those ugly goals. I think he’d be a fantastic signing for Manchester United.”
