Napoli have now joined the race for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, who is also on the radar for both Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, the Italian forward has caught the eye of Napoli this season, with other Serie A clubs impressed with Scamacca’s form this campaign, along with clubs across Europe such as Arsenal and Tottenham.
Labelled as a ‘fearless striker’ by Corriere dello Sport, the 23-year-old has been one of the breakout stars in Europe this season, with Scamacca bagging 13 goals in the Italian top-flight and winning his first international caps for the Azzurri.
And after such a year, it’s no surprise that clubs are now looking at signing Scamacca, who has shown this season to be an excellent prospect and a player who could thrive at a top European club, hence Napoli’s interest in the Italian.
As per the report, Napoli are preparing for if star striker Victor Osimhen leaves the club, with the Nigerian potentially set to depart the Italian giants for a move to the Premier League, and Scamacca could be a replacement.
Indeed, with Arsenal and Tottenham interested in the Rome-born attacker, Napoli will likely only make a move for Scamacca if Osimhen leaves, which will be music to the north London clubs’ ears ahead of the summer.
Arsenal and Tottenham should not be worried about Napoli interest in Scamacca

Scamacca could be the next Italian talent wanted by top clubs around Europe, and for Arsenal and Tottenham, Napoli’s interest should not be a worry to them given that Osimhen is unlikely to leave this summer.
After all, Napoli have set a club-record transfer fee of €100m (£84m) for the Nigerian, and with Scamacca reportedly available for a more modest £33m, Arsenal and Tottenham could be more inclined to sign the Sassuolo talent rather than the Napoli superstar.
