West Ham United target Ramus Kristensen admits he could be tempted to leave Red Bull Salzburg in the summer transfer window in order to boost his World Cup hopes, speaking to TV2.
The former Ajax defender only has three caps for the Denmark national team and was left out of the squad by Kasper Hjulmand as De Rod-Hvide reached the semi-finals of last summer’s European Championships.
So no wonder Kristensen is considering his future. The Qatar World Cup less than six months away after all.
According to BILD, West Ham United are renewing their interest in a long-time transfer target. The £10 million-rated Kristensen, who missed out on a move to the London Stadium back in 2018, has caught David Moyes’ eye once again during an impressive season with the perennial Austrian champions.

And a summer move to West Ham – an upwardly mobile West Ham side who recently knocked continental specialists Sevilla out of the Europa League – would certainly give Kristensen’s international prospects a timely shot in the arm.
Is Rasmus Kristensen on the move?
“The World Cup is the biggest thing for a football player,” says the 24-year-old. “And a huge dream and goal for me.

“I feel like I have the chance (to get in the Denmark squad), so I’m going to chase it. I will be looking for the best possible solution over the summer, so I can give myself the best chance to get to the World Cup.”
Kristensen, who has contributed a stunning 10 goals and eight assists from right-back this season, is in his third season as a Salzburg player.
He admitted a couple of weeks ago that a fourth campaign at the Red Bull Arena looks unlikely. Particularly given that Salzburg have a track record when it comes to selling their prized assets for a profit.
Should Kristensen secure a move to the English capital, he could take the place of Ryan Fredericks. The West Ham benchwarmer is out of contract in July.
