Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are facing competition from Manchester United and Newcastle United for Otavio, according to A Bola.

Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United eye Otavio

The report in the Portuguese news outlet has claimed that Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United all want to sign Otavio from FC Porto in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old Portugal international attacking midfielder has a release clause of €60 million (£50.31 million).

Interestingly, it was A Bola who reported back in June that Liverpool had made an offer of €23 million (£19.28m) for Otavio and were willing to include Marko Grujic in the deal.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.

Midfielder Grujic joined Porto on a permanent contract eventually, but Otavio did not move to Liverpool and stayed at the Portuguese club.

Impressive stats

Otavio has been on the books of Porto since 2014 and has done well for the Portuguese giants over the years.

The Portugal international attacking midfielder has won the domestic league with Porto twice.

The 27-year-old has scored three goals and given 11 assists in 25 league matches so far this season.

Otavio scored three goals and gave eight assists in 24 league starts for Porto last season.
