Arsenal reportedly remain interested in signing Youri Tielemans.

The Belgium international is a long-term target of Edu and Mikel Arteta in North London.

And according to 90 Min in February, the Gunners definitely are still keen to sign the Leicester City midfielder this summer.

And going by recent comments from the player himself, he might be up for it.

The 24-year-old dropped a big hint that he’s ready to leave the King Power Stadium this summer.

Tielemans, who joined for £32 million in 2019, also revealed that he’s ready to play for a Champions League outfit.

He said: “Of course, I want to play in the Champions League, just like any footballer. Am I ready for a European top club? I’m ready to get the best out of my career. We’ll see what happens next summer, or the summer after that.”

How does this benefit Arsenal?

Well, because Arteta’s troops are very possibly going to be back in the Champions League come next season.

Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League table and three points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played one game more.

The Gunners’ cushion is potentially seven points and there’s no denying that makes them massive favourites to get back into Europe’s elite competition.

Whether Arsenal are genuinely interested in Tielemans remains to be seen.

However, we know the player himself is keen to play for a Champions League outfit and if Arteta and Edu do want him, well they might just be able to offer the Belgian exactly what he wants.
