Reported Tottenham Hotspur summer transfer target Gareth Bale was a star for Wales against Austria, and his heroics for his country at the Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday evening have not gone unnoticed in Spain.
Spanish publication Marca have described the Real Madrid winger as a player who is “a phenomenon when he wants”, adding that “he is a crack” (ace).
Praise for Tottenham target Gareth Bale
Bale, linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham in the summer transfer window, scored both the goals for Wales in the 2-1 win against Austria in the 2022 World Cup qualifier semi-final playoff.
The 32-year-old scored with a brilliant free kick and then shot home from close range.
Marca have written that against Austria, Bale “taught a lesson on how to be decisive”.
In February, TuttoMercatoWeb reported that Bale has already signed a pre-contract agreement to rejoin Tottenham Hotspur for a third time.
Bale joined Tottenham from Southampton back in 2006 and moved to Madrid in 2013.

The 32-year-old had a loan spell at Spurs in 2020-21.
Bale has not had the best of times at Madrid in recent years, but he showed for Wales what he can do.
In our opinion, the winger would not be a bad signing for Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
Bale would be a free agent at the end of the season, and maybe he would not ask for the salary he gets at Madrid.
