Sevilla are reportedly still keen on signing Blackburn Rovers star Ben Brereton Diaz, with Leeds United and Newcastle United also keen on the Championship striker.

According to Estadio Deportivo, the European giants are eager to strengthen their attacking options for next season, with Sevilla crashing out of the UEFA Europa League in the Round of 16 against West Ham, and Brereton Diaz has emerged as a target for the Spanish side.

The Stoke-born Chilean international has had his best season to date in the Championship, with Brereton Diaz bagging 20 goals in 30 league appearances for Blackburn, though 2022 has been a struggle for the former Nottingham Forest talent.

Brereton Diaz is yet to score this year and has missed the last seven games due to an ankle injury as Blackburn continue their incredible promotion push back to the Premier League, and the striker’s form has been crucial for the club, as well as caught the eye of some big teams.

As per Estadio Deportivo, Leeds are keen on Brereton Diaz, whilst the Sunday Mirror have previously reported that Newcastle are ready to challenge clubs to sign the Championship sensation, who could cost as much as £25m according to the Sun.

Whilst form this year has been slacking, there’s no denying that Brereton Diaz is developing into a special player, and with Sevilla now back in the race for the striker, Newcastle and Leeds need to step up their efforts to sign the 22-year-old.

Brereton Diaz has been one of the stories of the season following on from his historic performances for Chile last summer in the Copa America, and for Newcastle and Leeds, they could miss out on the Championship sensation to Sevilla if they fail to move quickly with a transfer.

Indeed, the forward is ready for top-flight football, and with Brereton Diaz likely to move on from Blackburn this summer, Sevilla could smell a chance to sign the striker with the likes of Leeds and Newcastle failing to make much progress in bringing the forward to their clubs.
