Daniele Adani has questioned clubs looking to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma this summer on Bobo TV, amid reported interest from Liverpool and Juventus in the forward’s transfer.

Zaniolo has entered a storm of speculation surrounding his future at the Stadio Olimpico in recent weeks. And his situation has developed further following the Bianconeri confirming on Monday that Paolo Dybala will now be leaving Turin at the end of his contract this June.

Juventus have elected not to renew the Argentine’s terms at the Allianz Stadium as Dusan Vlahovic’s arrival changed their plans. The Serbian and Federico Chiesa are now their main attacking outlets, and Dybala no longer has an instrumental presence with the Serie A side.

So, Juventus are expected to hit the summer transfer window looking to sign a new winger to complete their attack. Zaniolo is one option in mind, with Gazzetta dello Sport citing the Old Lady as favourites to acquire the 22-year-old. But Roma want €50m (£42m) to sell him.

Liverpool are also interested in Zaniolo’s transfer if the eight-cap Italy forward could leave Roma this year, per Roma Live. The Reds have also expressed their interest in his situation to the Massa-born maestro’s representatives, as have Tottenham and Manchester United.

Zaniolo has attracted elite-level transfer interest from clubs like Liverpool and Juventus in recent months, despite the Roma star enduring a mixed campaign under Jose Mourinho.

The Italian has scored four goals and provided eight assists over his 33 appearances across all competitions so far. But he has also earned a straight red card, one second yellow card, and was booed by Giallorossi fans during their Europa Conference League tie last week.

Adani also notes Zaniolo’s strike rate is inconsistent, so Juventus’ interest confuses the ex-Italy star. Especially as the Old Lady offloaded a right-sided forward in January when Dusan Kulusevski joined Tottenham in a two-year loan with an option to buy.

“At Roma, Zaniolo does not play and scores little,” he said, via TMW. “He is not a champion and you plan to take him in the same role as Kulusevski you kicked out in January?”
