Liverpool may already have not one but two exciting signings lined up for the summer with Ben Doak and Fabio Carvalho potentially arriving from Celtic and Fulham.

So often in football we think about what’s next; what a team will look like next season, in five years, in ten years.

Maybe that’s down to the relentless nature of the game. New seasons come around so quickly and there’s a belief that just one or two trophies isn’t good enough for a great side.

Liverpool certainly live in that bracket. They have won one league title and one Champions League under Jurgen Klopp but will be gunning for more.

With Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all being around their 30’s, it’s natural to wonder about a succession plan.

Diogo Jota and Luiz Diaz are a start, but Liverpool will be looking for more attacking signings who can be developed over the coming years.

With that in mind, Liverpool already appear to have their next generation in mind with deals for Ben Doak and Fabio Carvalho.

The Athletic reported last week that Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Doak this summer. Celtic had huge hopes for Doak but are now resigned to losing the 16-year-old.

Praised for ‘incredible pace’, Doak is an attacking midfielder or winger who has already featured in the Celtic first team.

Doak isn’t the only teenager likely to join Liverpool though as Fabio Carvalho looks set to arrive from Fulham too.

90Min claim that whilst a deadline day deal in January collapsed, the expectation is that Carvalho – out of contract this summer – will still join the Reds.

Hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Fulham boss Marco Silva, Carvalho has dazzled in the Championship this season with seven goals and six assists.

A diminutive playmaker with outstanding technique and every trick in the book, Carvalho has already shown so much at 19 and looks set for stardom.

There is now a very real chance for Doak and Carvalho to shine together at Anfield in the future, with Liverpool preparing their next batch of stars early.
