Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have just received a blow in their reported quest to sign Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele.

Mundo Deportivo reported last week that Liverpool manager Klopp wants to sign Dembele on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.
The Liverpool boss is reportedly worried that Mohamed Salah will leave this summer.
So Klopp has identified Dembele as a potential replacement.
U-turn
Back in January, Sport reported that Dembele had decided to leave Barcelona.
The France international forward is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season, and talks over a new deal had stopped.
Dembele was reportedly thinking of leaving Camp Nou in January.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund stayed and is now an important player in Barcelona head coach Xavi’s team.
Dembele provided two assists for Barcelona in their win against Real Madrid in El Clasico this past weekend.
Cadena Ser are now reporting that Dembele is ready to listen to what Barcelona have to say over a new deal.
The forward is willing to resume talks with the La Liga giants and is open to staying at the club beyond the end of the season.
Barcelona’s sports vice-president Rafa Yuste has said that the club themselves are willing to resume talks.
Cadena Ser quotes Yuste as saying: “The negotiations did not bear fruit at the time. But Xavi tells us that he is an exceptional player, and he is, and he brings a lot to the team.
“I think Xavi is also doing a phenomenal job on a psychological level because he helps Dembele understand the system better.
It’s clear that Xavi is a role model for the players. The fact is that if Dembele will more and more comfortable in the coming months, and I feel that he is doing so.
“I do not rule out that we can meet again with his agents with the possibility that Ousmane can continue with us.”
It seems that Liverpool could miss out on Dembele.
