David Seaman has stated that he knows Aaron Ramsdale won’t allow his recent mistake for Arsenal to ‘affect him’, as he told Super Matchday on Sky Sports.

The Highbury legend added that Ramsdale, who missed Arsenal’s weekend win over Aston Villa through injury, will react in a ‘brilliant’ manner the next time he is back on the field.

It’s not yet known how serious Ramsdale’s injury is or when he will return to the starting XI because he has backed out of England’s forthcoming internationals.

But, all of that could be a precaution from the player, his country and the club in the fact that they don’t want to worsen his situation.

Nonetheless, this is what Seaman had to say about England’s shot-stopper and his recent mistake against Liverpool, as Arsenal fans will love his comments.

“It’s disappointing that he has got his injury because the first goal against Liverpool was a mistake,” said Seaman. “I know that and he knows that.

“What was the most interesting thing, for me, about that, was how he was going to react afterwards. He’s not really had any knock-backs.

“But knowing Aaron, I know he will be brilliant. I know he won’t let that affect him. That’s how you judge good goalkeepers.

“You make a mistake in the first minutes, then can you concentrate for the rest of the game? That’s what sorts out the good goalkeepers from the rest.”

From the perception around Ramsdale when he first arrived in north London, to the talk around him now.

It’s fair to say that he has made a lot of people eat humble pie and prove his worth to those who doubted him.

Not only has Ramsdale been in outstanding form for his club, but he might just also guide the club back to the glory days of Champions League football.

Of course, Mikel Arteta will want his players to push further than that and win the Premier League title, but all of that is still a long, long away.
