Alan Shearer has said on Amazon Prime Video (9:40pm, March 17, 2022) that Bruno Guimaraes was the only Newcastle United player who did well against Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday evening.

The Newcastle legend made the comments while watching Eddie Howe’s side in action against Everton in the Premier League.

Alex Iwobi scored for the Toffees deep into injury time.

Everton won 1-0.

Newcastle great Shearer was on co-commentary duty for the match on Amazon Prime Video, and he was impressed by Bruno Guimaraes, especially in the first half.

Shearer said in the 96th minute: “The only one who has really tried to get his grip on the game, tried to play passes with a little bit of quality, is that guy on the ball now, Bruno Guimaraes, certainly in the first half, not so much in the second half.”

Bruno Guimaraes played well for Newcastle v Everton

In our view, Bruno Guimaraes played well for Newcastle against Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Thursday evening.

The Brazil international midfielder tried to make things happen with his passes and played some lovely balls, especially in the first half.

The 24-year-old former Lyon star took three shots and one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 96.9%, took 85 touches, attempted one dribble, made four tackles and one clearances, and put in one cross.

It was a disappointing result for Newcastle, but we think that the Magpies have enough points not to get relegated from the Premier League.
