Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has moved to praise striker Roberto Firmino after his impact coming off the bench against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The scene was set for a great game at the Emirates Stadium with both Arsenal and Liverpool in great form.
Arsenal had won five in a row, Liverpool had won eight in a row. Arsenal chasing a top four spot and Liverpool chasing the title.
After a tight first half in which Arsenal were more than in the game, Liverpool did claim the win with two second-half goals.
Diogo Jota fired the opener, beating Aaron Ramsdale at his near post before Roberto Firmino added the second from close range.
Brough on in the second half having returned from injury, Fimino showed that he can still be a goal threat even if he may no longer be first-choice.
Firmino is being overshadowed by the likes of Luis Diaz, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Jota, but is still a quality striker when given the chance.
The Brazilian proved his worth yet again on Wednesday night – not that he necessarily has anything to prove to Liverpool fans or Jurgen Klopp.
Still, having that kind of impact player from the bench is exactly why Liverpool have chased down Manchester City and could now win the league.
Defender Robertson set up Firmino’s goal and then praised the striker whilst speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle.

The Scot moved to hail Firmino, stating that he was ‘outstanding’ when he came on against Arsenal and fully deserved his goal.
“I’m so happy with the clean sheet and obviously to assist Bobby,” said Firmino. “Bobby deserves his goal, I thought he was outstanding when he came on,” he added.
Firmino, who cost £29million back in 2015, may not always get the praise he deserves, but it’s clear he is well-respected inside Anfield.
With Liverpool gunning for the Premier League title, don’t be surprised to see more big moments from Firmino in the coming weeks.
