Arsenal and Newcastle United target Georginio Wijnaldum is prioritising a move to England should he leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that Wijnaldum is angling for a swift return to English football.
Wijnaldum only left Liverpool last summer, walking away at the end of his contract in order to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.
The Dutchman hasn’t really enjoyed his time with PSG though, failing to really play as much as he would like under Mauricio Pochettino.
Reports from France last weekend suggested that PSG are now making Wijnaldum available for transfer this summer, seeking to offload his £160,000-a-week wages.
AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are understood to be keen on Wijnaldum, but the 31-year-old is focused on joining a Premier League side.
So where could Wijnaldum go?
Sky Sports reported in January that Wijnaldum would like to play for Arsenal and that the Gunners are similarly interested in signing him.
At 31, Wijnaldum doesn’t really fit Arsenal’s recent recruitment style but may want to bring in an experienced midfielder given lingering question marks over the future of Granit Xhaka.
Another option for Wijnaldum would be Newcastle United – the club he joined in 2015 and then left just a year later for Liverpool.

The Athletic reported that Newcastle did want to sign Wijnaldum in January. With millions invested by PIF, Newcastle will attempt to attract big names this summer.
Wijnaldum certainly fits the bill and has an emotional connection to the club, but whether they can match his immediate goals remains to be seen.
Branded ‘perfect’ by Jurgen Klopp, Wijnaldum is a fine all-round midfield player and was absolutely vital to Liverpool’s success under Klopp.
Unsurprisingly a wanted man, don’t be surprised if Wijnaldum ends up at Arsenal or Newcastle this summer.
