Gary Neville has said on Twitter that Robert Sanchez should have been sent off for his challenge on Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.
The former Manchester United star believes that the Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper should have been shown a straight red for smashing into Liverpool winger Diaz.
In the 21st minute of the ongoing Premier League game between Brighton and Liverpool, Diaz scored for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Joel Matip played a brilliant pass to the Colombia international winger, and the January transfer window signing from FC Porto headed home bravely.
Sanchez smashed into Diaz in the follow-through, hurting the Liverpool star in the process.
There was a VAR check, and the Brighton goalkeeper was not shown a red card, which, according to Sky Sports pundit Neville, was the wrong decision.

Robert Sanchez v Luis Diaz controversy
In our view, it was a controversial decision, and we think that the referee should have sent off Sanchez for smashing into Diaz.
If that were an outfield player, surely the referee would have shown a red card.
Now, of course, we could argue that Sanchez could not stop his follow-through, but that does not always end in leniency.
