Paul Merson has written on SportsKeeda that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would pick Diogo Jota over Luis Diaz in the starting lineup.
The former Arsenal star believes that if there is a big game tomorrow, then Liverpool boss Klopp would pick Portugal international forward Jota over Colombia international winger Diaz.
The 25-year-old moved to Liverpool from FC Porto in the January transfer window for £37 million (Sky Sports).
Diaz has scored one goal in four Premier League games for the Reds since his transfer in January.
Merson wrote: “Luis Diaz has done well for Liverpool, but I’d still go with Diogo Jota ahead of him in the starting eleven.
“If tomorrow’s match was a Champions League semi-final or a big game, I’d be shocked if Jota didn’t play.”

Diogo Jota over Luis Diaz in Liverpool XI
In our view, Jota is ahead of Diaz in the pecking order at Liverpool at the moment.
There is no doubt about it.
Yes, Diaz has hit the ground running at Liverpool and is doing well at the moment, but Jota has been around at Anfield much longer.
Klopp knows what the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star can and cannot do.
Moreover, Jota has proven to be an important source of goals for Liverpool.
The Liverpool no. 20 has scored 12 goals in 19 Premier League starts so firths season.
Jota scored nine goals in 12 league starts for Klopp’s side last season.
