Tottenham Hotspur have been showing a real interest in signing Borussia Monchengladbach star Jonas Hofmann as he eyes a lucrative summer move.
That’s according to Bild, who claim that Gladbach are anticipating something of an exodus this summer with a number of sales anticipated.
Goalkeeper Yann Sommer and winger Hofmann are both out of contract in 2023 and could be sold this summer before they leave for nothing next year.
Atletico Madrid and Tottenham are understood to have recently shown a big interest in signing Hofmann at the end of the season.
Both Sommer and Hofmann believe lucrative offers could arrive this summer and they are seemingly intrigued by the idea of leaving Gladbach.
Hofmann, 29, has been enjoying a superb season for Gladbach, registering eight goals and two assists in 20 Bundesliga games.
Primarily a right-sided winger, the former Borussia Dortmund wide man is now nearing 200 appearances for Gladbach and has become something of a club hero.
Hard-working and versatile, Hofmann could play a number of different roles under Antonio Conte and has even been compared to Marco Reus on the Bundesliga’s official website.

Hofmann wouldn’t exactly set pulses racing though given that he is approaching his 30’s and has never played outside of the Bundesliga.
Fabio Paratici may feel that Hofmann would be a bargain given his contract situation, adding valuable depth for Conte’s squad.
Atletico targeting him too shows that Hofmann is at least attracting interest from top clubs around Europe.
Gladbach are desperate to keep Hofmann, but if Tottenham come forward with an offer, you could hardly blame the German if he fancied making a big move to the Premier League.
