Goal report that Lazio have held talks with the representatives of on-loan Tottenham goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini ahead of a summer move. Spurs are unlikely to sign him permanently; Lazio want a £9million deal for Gollini.
Gollini, 26, joined Tottenham on a loan-to-buy deal in the summer from Atalanta. It is believed that deal would become permanent if he clocked up 20 appearances in all competitions – but he has managed just 10 outings.
With Spurs now out of all of the Cup competitions, Gollini has almost zero chance of reaching that figure – which would see Spurs pay £13million. He looks set to leave North London in the summer, and Lazio want him.
Pepe Reina and Thomas Strakosha are both out of contract at Lazio in the summer and require replacing. It now appears Lazio have held talks ‘in recent days’ with Gollini’s agents over a move. Willing to pay £9million.
Gollini to Lazio: Brilliant move for on-loan Tottenham player
Gollini will not be staying at Spurs this summer – whether that is another season’s loan or a permanent deal. So, a move to one of Serie A’s biggest clubs to be their first-choice goalkeeper is a brilliant move for Gollini.
It comes a long way from the Italian stopper that struggled during a short stint at Aston Villa. Yes, he has failed to break into Tottenham’s side this term, but becoming Lazio’s first choice is a move that clearly suits all.
