Slaven Bilic has labelled Liverpool duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson as ‘unbelievable’, as he compared them with Chelsea’s fullbacks, when speaking to Premier League Productions.

The West Ham and West Brom boss pointed out that when Chelsea duo Reece James and Ben Chilwell are flying forward, they have the luxury that they play with three men at the back, whereas Liverpool don’t.

Arguments have been made, far and wide, as to who has the better fullbacks and who is the better player from James and Alexander-Arnold.

For England, the duo haven’t really cemented their place in Gareth Southgate’s side, and in truth, it’s no surprise when he can also pick Kyle Walker.

But this is what Bilic had to say about the players on the flanks for Chelsea and Liverpool.

“Reece James from Chelsea, he scored against Burnley and he is always in those (attacking) positions,” said Bilic.

“Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell, they are always in those positions. But they have three at the back.

“These two guys (Alexander-Arnold and Robertson), they are there anyway. And they don’t have three at the back. You say they have Fabinho.

“But also Chelsea has three centre-backs, Kante, Kovacic or Jorginho. Most of the time, they are behind the ball. These guys are unbelievable.”

In recent weeks, James has been out injured, but upon his return to the XI, he was, once again, working his magic for Chelsea.

He scored and assisted as Thomas Tuchel’s side ran riot against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Whilst Alexander-Arnold was churning out the assists again, this time against West Ham during his side’s 1-0 win at Anfield.

Nonetheless, from an England perspective, the Three Lions are well and truly blessed in that department and it’s something they don’t have to worry about for many, many years.
