Speaking on BT Sport, Rio Ferdinand has told Jordan Henderson to his face that he doesn’t get enough credit.

The midfielder is one of Liverpool’s most important players, but in some circles, he’s still not recognised as the world-class talent that he is.

Henderson is a fantastic player who works well on both ends of the pitch, but, according to Ferdinand, due to the fact skills and goals are valued so highly by the young generation, Henderson goes under the radar.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand told Henderson just how important he is.

“I think that some kids nowadays, it’s all about skills, but you don’t win games without those bits. Maybe it’s not fashionable for some people, but it’s needed in a winning team. This here, I don’t think you get enough credit for, playing the ball forward, breaking the lines, changing the dynamic of the game, you don’t get enough credit,” Ferdinand told Henderson.
