Wolves are reportedly interested in signing FC Barcelona talent Riqui Puig, with Adama Traore potentially playing a key role in a transfer this summer.
According to Sport, Bruno Lage’s side are big fans of the Spanish youngster, who during his earlier years with La Masia was compared to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta for his technical quality and quick feet in central midfield.
However, Puig’s development with Barcelona has hit a snag, with both Ronald Koeman and Xavi Hernandez not keen on the 22-year-old midfielder, with Wolves now interested in signing the youngster this summer, and Traore could play a part in a potential transfer.
As per the report, Barcelona could use Puig as leverage to sign Traore on a permanent deal, with the Spanish international only with the La Liga side on loan, yet based on early signs, Xavi will be keen to sign the attacker for good this summer.
Traore has impressed immensely since returning to Barcelona and has looked like a force in La Liga, and for Wolves, this form could help land the Premier League side sign Puig, who could be a long-term replacement for Joao Moutinho.
Whilst the Portuguese midfielder shows no sign of slowing down, Wolves should be making plans to find a successor to the 35-year-old veteran, and Puig could be the ideal player for Lage to sign this summer.
Puig deal can help both Wolves and Barcelona in multiple ways

Puig looks set to leave Barcelona after failing to break into the first-team despite his obvious talents, and for Wolves, they could land a win-win situation this summer if the La Liga side offer a swap deal between Traore and the midfielder.
Indeed, a central midfielder will be on Lage’s transfer list for the summer, and with Barcelona eager to sign Traore and Puig looking to move on, a win-win situation could be on the cards this summer if the Catalan giants and Wolves cooperate.
