Newcastle United are already being linked with big summer signings with Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby believed to be a prime target.
Newcastle’s interest in Diaby emerges again
Diaby’s name may be familiar to the Newcastle fans amongst us.
Late in January, Telefoot reported that Newcastle were hoping to pull off a last-gasp deal to sign Diaby before the transfer deadline.
However, Leverkusen made it clear they didn’t want to sell Diaby and made sure the Frenchman stayed put.
That hasn’t deterred Newcastle though, with the Daily Mail now claiming that the Magpies are ready to come back in.
It’s stated that Newcastle are ready to put £50million on the table for Diaby this summer.
The problem is that Leverkusen are looking for a lot more money. They want around £75million, valuing him similarly to Kai Havertz in his move to Chelsea.
That’s a huge fee for Newcastle, but they allegedly sent scouts to watch Diaby against Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon.
We could see a big Newcastle bid for Diaby this summer, but whether it’s enough to tempt Leverkusen remains to be seen.

Diaby in blistering form
It’s now great surprise to see Diaby attracting major interest.
In Diaby’s last six games for Leverkusen, he has racked up a ridiculous seven goals and one assist.
That has now taken Diaby’s season total to 15 goals and nine assists across all competitions, dazzling whether on the left or right flank.
Branded ‘amazing, irresistible and astonishing’ in Germany’, Diaby has blistering pace and is a constant threat inside the box.
Diaby could be a huge signing for Newcastle if they can pull it off, but expect Leverkusen to put up a major fight to keep the former Paris Saint-Germain talent.
