Liverpool may be sensing a chance to swoop in and sign Red Bull Salzburg attacker Karim Adeyemi after Borussia Dortmund’s bid was rejected.
That’s according to claims from Sky Germany, who have offered an update on Adeyemi’s future.
They claim that Adeyemi has an agreement in principle to join Dortmund this summer – but no fee has actually been agreed.
Dortmund’s €30million (£25million) bid has been rejected, with Salzburg demanding €40million (£33million) for their star striker.
Dortmund have yet to accept those demands, meaning there is a window of opportunity for another club to swoop in.
It’s then added that some Premier League clubs are willing to pay that fee without hesitation, with Liverpool listed as a potential suitor.
Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig are believed to be seeing a chance to hijack the move to Dortmund and snatch Adeyemi.
One thing to remember here is that Liverpool just hijacked a transfer, swooping in to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of winger Luis Diaz.
If the right player is there, Liverpool are more than willing to move in and hijack a transfer, so could Adeyemi be the next?
Adeyemi, 20, has racked up 19 goals and four assists in 33 games for Red Bull Salzburg this season. A striker with blistering pace and huge potential, you can see why Liverpool would like him.

Liverpool have shown a real love for players with Red Bull history in the past too; Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, Takumi Minamino and Ibrahima Konate all played for at least one Red Bull side.
Adeyemi thinks of himself as being like Kylian Mbappe – another player who has been linked with Liverpool in recent times.
With Divock Origi set to leave Liverpool this summer, there could be room for another striker – although maybe not at more than £30million.
Adding Adeyemi to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz would be a dream for Liverpool, but maybe it’s just that – a dream.
Liverpool will need other signings this summer and sinking big money into another attack maybe won’t be the biggest priority, even if they do like Adeyemi.
