Rio Ferdinand has said on his YouTube channel that he is shocked to hear that Marcus Rashford wants to leave Manchester United, with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal among the clubs interested in him.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Rashford is considering his future at Manchester United.

The 24-year-old England international is struggling for playing time at the moment and came on only as a substitute in the Manchester derby against Manchester United this past weekend.

90min have reported that Arsenal are among the clubs who are monitoring the situation of Rashford and are keen on signing the Manchester United star in the summer transfer window.

Former United defender Ferdinand has given his take on the rumour, and he is shocked.

“Fabrizio’s not normally wrong by the way. That’s thrown me, I’ve got to be honest,” Ferdinand told his YouTube channel. “If that’s real, I can’t believe it’s real.

“You can only talk like that when you’re playing well. You can only talk like that when you’re putting in a consistent performance and banging balls into the back of the net. And Marcus isn’t doing that right now. He hasn’t played well for a little while now. He doesn’t look happy at United, I’ve got to be honest.

“I don’t know where that information has come from. But I hope that hasn’t come from Marcus’ camp because I’d be embarrassed.”

Leaving Manchester United for Arsenal could help Marcus Rashford

In our view, leaving Manchester United for Arsenal in the summer transfer window could help Rashford.

The forward has become a bit stagnant, and with United not doing well on the pitch, it does seem that it would help Rashfod if he moved to a different club.

Arsenal are doing well at the moment and could finish in the Premier League top four this season.

The Gunners have some brilliant young players,, such as Emile Smile Rowe and Bukayo Saka, and Rashford could well fit in at the Emirates Stadium.
