Raphinha has taken to Instagram on Monday evening with a six-word message for worried Leeds United fans, amid the current relegation battle. The Whites sit in 16th place, but have played more games than their rivals.
Leeds suffered defeat in Jesse Marsch’s first game in charge on Saturday, a 1-0 loss to Leicester. However, the display was much-improved from their previous losses to Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United.
Leeds remain in 16th after Harvey Barnes scored, with Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Everton on Monday certainly aiding the Whites in their fight against the drop. However, Burnley and Everton have games in hand over Leeds.
Despite the huge concerns regarding relegation, Raphinha posted a six-word message to Leeds fans on Instagram on Monday night. His message is translated as saying: “Good things will happen. Have faith.”
Raphinha message: Brazilian instantly seems happier at Leeds
There had been rumours of discontent between Raphinha and Marcelo Bielsa towards the end of the Argentine’s stint at Leeds. Hooked against Everton at half-time, he was then dropped against Manchester United.
Under Marsch, Raphinha has already been seen smiling more in photos behind the scenes at Thorp Arch. Not only that, but the mere fact he is issuing messages to Leeds fans to keep the faith, will encourage fans.
Leeds will need Raphinha to score a handful of goals between now and the end of the season – and having the Brazilian happy certainly helps.
