Paul Merson has shared on Sky Sports News (2:14pm, March 6, 2022) what Jamie Redknapp told him about reported Arsenal target and Chelsea-owned striker Armando Broja.
Football.London reported in February that Arsenal are interested in signing Broja from Premier League and London rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old Albania international striker is on loan at Southampton from Southampton at the moment.
Former Arsenal star Merson has shared what ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and fellow Sky Sports pundit Redknapp told him about the youngster a few years ago.
Merson said: “Jamie Redknapp told me about him, three, four years ago. There is this player at Chelsea, Albanian lad, he would definitely go to the top.”
Armando Broja would make Arsenal better
In our view, Broja would be a good signing for Arsenal and would make the Gunners a better and more potent team in attack.
The 20-year-old is having a wonderful campaign at Southampton and has been very impressive.
The Albania international striker has scored six goals in 15 Premier League starts for Southampton so far this season.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left Arsenal for Barcelona in the January transfer window, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract at the end of the season.
So Broja could potentially get into the Arsenal starting lineup straightaway.
