Paul Scholes has claimed that Bukayo Saka was Arsenal’s ‘best player by a long shot’ during their 3-2 win over Watford, as he told Premier League Productions (06/03/22 at 4:05 pm).
Arsenal’s rising star scored and assisted for his side yesterday and Scholes praised Saka for his ‘brilliant’ performance.
There are many young players shining bright in the Premier League and in Europe, but Saka will want to put his name amongst the best.
The 20-year-old is having an outstanding season and playing a huge part in Arsenal possibly returning to the Champions League.
After his performance at Vicarage Road yesterday, he certainly has a fan in Scholes, who liked what he saw from the Hale-End star.
“What a goal,” said Scholes. “Saka robs Tom (Cleverley) of the ball, a brilliant one-two with Lacazette and this finish is not easy, but he does it brilliantly. It’s a lovely little disguise.
“I thought he was brilliant from that right-hand side. He was Arsenal’s best player by a long shot.”

At the rate Saka is going, he should hit double figures in terms of Premier League goals this season because he is currently on eight.
Added with that, he also has five assists to his name and that heartache of Euro 2020 in the summer is well and truly behind him.
There have been many England players, including his captain, Harry Kane, who have fallen off a cliff since the Euros, but Saka is standing strong.
Now it’s a case of Arsenal showcasing their bottle during these final few months because finishing in fourth spot is well and truly in their hands.
