Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are interested in signing Hugo Ekitike from Reims in the summer transfer window, according to But! Football Club.
The report has claimed that both Arsenal and Newcastle scouted the teenage striker when he was in action for Reims against Stade Brestois on February 20.
Ekitike got injured after just 16 minutes and is now expected to be out of action until March 23 at least.
The report has added that Reims want €40 million (£33.11 million) as transfer fee for the France Under-20 international striker.
Back in January 2022, 90min reported that Newcastle and Arsenal were among the clubs interested in signing the youngster in the January transfer window.

Arsenal or Newcastle United for Hugo Ekitike?
In our view, Arsenal would be more appealing than Newcastle to Ekitike.
Yes, Newcastle are now a wealthy club who are likely to escape the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
However, Arsenal are a massive club and a global brand, and the Gunners could finish in the Premier League top four this season.
Moreover, the Gunners are in desperate need of strikers.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left for Barcelona in the January transfer window, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season.
