Micah Richards has been contributing to the BBC Premier League live blog today, where he had plenty of praise for a player sold by Tottenham.

What’s the story?

Well, Christian Eriksen made his first start for Brentford today since returning to the Premier League, in what was a special moment.

Many wondered if the 30-year-old would ever play football again after he suffered a cardiac arrest at EURO 2020, but the ex-Spurs man is now back and performing well.

Eriksen helped Brentford record a 3-1 win over Norwich at Carrow Road, and Richards was very impressed by the Dane’s performance.

On BBC Sport, the 33-year-old wrote: “Christian Eriksen made a massive difference – he was not exceptional but he was a cut above the rest. Some of his delivery was brilliant.”

One outstanding pass from Eriksen even saw a number of Tottenham fans bemoaning the fact he no longer plays for their beloved Spurs on Twitter.

Hopefully, the former Ajax maestro can continue to go from strength to strength with the Bees.

Christian Eriksen showed Tottenham what they’re missing

At the moment, Antonio Conte is desperately missing a source of creativity in midfield, something Eriksen would provide.

The Italian even said he’d be open to re-signing the Denmark international if the opportunity arose.

Now, Eriksen has probably made Conte want a reunion even more.

As WhoScored shows, the Brentford playmaker completed 82.6% of his passes against the Canaries, while also swinging in four accurate crosses.

Eriksen also attempted five long-range passes, completing all of them.

It was a cultured display, and if he’s going to deliver that level of performance on a weekly basis, maybe Tottenham really should consider re-signing him.
