Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is determined to sign Yves Bissouma, who is also on the radar of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, according to The Express.
The Express have reported that Villa had a bid of £35 million for Bissouma turned down by his club Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.
Villa manager and Liverpool legend Gerrard is still in pursuit of the Mali international midfielder, described as “sensational” by Arsenal legend Ian Wright on Wrighty’s House Podcast in August 2021.
However, Villa are not the only club who are keen on the 25-year-old midfielder.
According to the Sunday Mirror (13/02: page 74), Klopp’s Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also interested in Bissouma.

Could Aston Villa sign Yves Bissouma ahead of Liverpool?
In our view, it is going to be very tough for Villa to sign Bissouma ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.
Yes, Villa are a big club, but Liverpool regularly challenge for major trophies and could win the Premier League title this season.
In our opinion, Bissouma would find Liverpool more appealing than Villa, even though he would have to really fight for his place in the Reds’ starting lineup.
