Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has told Amazon Prime that Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is one of his toughest opponents – branding the Belgian “unbelievable”, and that he has “fantastic vision” in midfield.
With Liverpool boasting a game in hand over Manchester City, there are just six points between the two sides as we enter the last third of the Premier League campaign. The title race is certainly beginning to boil.
In the next 11 or 12 games, depending if you are of a Manchester City or Liverpool persuasion – you will be relying on your best players. De Bruyne and van Dijk meet that category. The duo will have a big say on the title.
Asked for his toughest opponents, Liverpool star van Dijk named both Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Manchester City superstar De Bruyne: “I can say De Bruyne is unbelievable, it is his vision, he is a fantastic player.”
Van Dijk on De Bruyne: Liverpool or Manchester City to come out on top?
It promises to be an exciting run-in for the Premier League title – especially as Liverpool look to be in better form, and if they win their game in hand. That game in hand comes in the form of Arsenal, on March 16.
A tricky clash, at The Emirates – but one that Liverpool should win given their current form. Then, the two sides do battle on April 10 at The Etihad. Liverpool will surely have to pick up at least four points from those games.
Right now, though, you would say on form, Liverpool have every chance to catch Manchester City come the end of the season. City only scraped a 1-0 win over Everton on the weekend, despite Rodri handling inside his box.
