
Manchester United have reportedly made contact with AS Monaco over the signing of French international Aurelien Tchouameni, who is also on Liverpool’s radar.
According to Sport, the Red Devils, as well as Chelsea, have been in touch with the midfielder over a potential move in the summer, with Monaco open to selling Tchouameni for €60m (£50m) after a brilliant season in Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old has been in fantastic form for Monaco this campaign, and Tchouameni’s performances have caught the eye of many clubs in the Premier League as well as the likes of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, as per Sport.
Liverpool are just one English side who are chasing Tchouameni, with RMC Sport reporting that the Reds have also approached Monaco to sign the midfielder, with Jurgen Klopp eyeing a long-term option to replace the likes of James Milner and Jordan Henderson.
Labelled as ‘a complete midfielder’ by sporting director Paul Mitchell, Tchouameni’s stock has risen considerably this season, and with United now making contact to sign the midfielder, Liverpool face some strong competition for the youngster.
Indeed, Tchouameni could be a perfect signing for Liverpool given the profile of midfielder they are looking for this summer, yet with United firmly in the race for the Frenchman, this summer could see an interesting episode develop between the Premier League rivals.

Tchouameni has exploded onto the scene this season after years of promise in Ligue 1, and for Liverpool, they can’t allow their great rivals United to win the race for the talented French midfielder.
The youngster has the quality to star under Jurgen Klopp as well as develop into an outstanding member of the Liverpool squad, but with United approaching Tchouameni, the Reds need to put plans into place to sign the youngster.
